Do you have to remove the plug when charging is complete or does the box switch itself off? What happens if you leave it plugged in overnight, is that dangerous or will the car be damaged? Is it possible to overcharge?

The charger does not switch off automatically when charging is complete; the plug must be removed from the vehicle manually. Overcharging is technically not possible with electric cars, as the vehicle controls the charging process and stops charging as soon as the battery is full. The charger itself offers a timer function to control the charging time, but it does not disconnect automatically. Staying plugged in overnight is generally not dangerous and does not harm the car as the vehicle controls the charge and has overcharge protection. Nevertheless, it is advisable to remove the plug once charging is complete to avoid unnecessary power consumption and possible safety risks.
