Do I still need to do a BIOS update to use a Ryzen 5800x/5900x?
I inserted the 9 5900. Switched on the PC and off I went, without any problems, no matter how small. I am thrilled.
Yes, the older BIOS versions may put the board into a non-bootable state. And then it's off.....
Actually, almost all boards already have a BIOS on them that at least recognises the processor, so that you can get into the BIOS to do an update. Otherwise, there are actually no difficulties with it. Very good board, very fast, and compatible.
