Question about Lenovo Legion 7
@Digitec & Co Is the laptop compatible or usable with the following monitor, 5120x1440 as well as 240Hz? https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/samsung-odyssey-g9-lc49g95tssrxen-49-5120-x-1440-pixels-monitor-12524523 I heard that the 240Hz is only possible with a display port 1.4 and DSC (but the laptop only has HDMI), but I want to be sure.
According to the product data sheet, the following maximum resolution is specified via HDMI: 4096x2304@60Hz.
Unfortunately, laptops are rarely tested with DQHD resolutions, so I cannot say which video signals are possible, even if some should be feasible in terms of bandwidth.
Another fun fact:
I've been using the Odyssey G9 for half a year now, and I'm very satisfied. However, according to Samsung, the "optimal resolution" is 5120x1440@120Hz, not 240Hz. This information can also be found in the official user manual. Unfortunately, I can confirm that the overclock of 240Hz is possible with this monitor, but the pixels do not keep up with fast dark-bright changes and it leads to unsightly images. I therefore recommend that you operate the G9 at 120Hz, whether with this laptop or in another way 👍
