Despite several attempts to connect my SONY turntable (with moving magnet) to the Panasonic SC-PMX94 (AUDIO IN), using a phono preamplifier between the 2 devices, the sound is DISTORTED! As phono preamplifiers, I've already tried Pro-Ject Boîte phono and then Hama PA-506, without success. Does this mean that the problem lies with the chain? Is there a workaround? For your information, the direct connection between the Sony CD player and the system (AUDIO IN) works perfectly! Thanks for your help!
Hello jazzouz
That sounds like double signal amplification to me. Have you ever connected the record player without phono preamplifier to the Panasonic SC-PMX94 (Audio In)? There are turntables with and without preamplification, I don't know what you have. More detailed information about the record player (for example: Sony PSL-X310BT) would help. Lg Easyk
Unfortunately, I can't answer that. I have the system standing alone in the kitchen.
Hi,
I assume that the distortion is caused by an input signal that is too strong. If you use the AUX-IN you can at least control the input level. Otherwise you would have to use a resistor to reduce the input level. I do not believe that the system itself is defective.
