Could anyone confirm if the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 monitor is not capable of a 240Hz refresh rate when paired with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card?

Helpful answer

No, apparently it only works via 1.4 Display Port and Nvidia has not implemented this. I have a Radeon AMD and it can do this. It also works with the high resolution.

That is correct. 120Hz at native resolution is the maximum with the RTX4090. However, since you rarely or never get close to 120 fps even with this graphics card in current games with the highest level of detail (despite DLSS), this is currently bearable. The 5090 will fix it. 😉

240 Hz or 240 FPS? 240 FPS will only be achieved with eSports titles such as Counterstrike, League of Legends etc.

I have to correct myself - I mixed up a number - ashes over my head...
Nvidia can do DP 1.2 and DP 1.4
Radeon AMD can also do DP 2.1
DP 2.1 is required for 240 Hz.
This is also the logical setting for me.
However, with the 8K width in certain programmes, I notice that in "full screen mode" (F11 key), sometimes and only with certain programmes, the full screen is cut off in the middle on the right-hand side and remains dark. For example, when I watch streaming in Firefox or YouTube and then press F11... Window mode goes to full screen. I don't think all programmes can cope with this high resolution. It can't be the driver, graphics card, cable or monitor. The FluSi from Microsoft works in all questionable modes in the highest resolution without any problems.
