Question about Corsair Vengeance LPX
Compatible with Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Designare? According to the specs, yes, but according to the manufacturer's site only compatible with the 2x16Gb or 4x4Gb variant, but not 2x8Gb. Can that be? Makes no sense to me xD

Hmm... so if you take the i7 7700k, then also take a motherboard with this chipset. E.G. : MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon (LGA 1151, Intel Z270, ATX)
You take the K version and want to overclock. And if you take a Z170 motherboard, the PC won't run. Personally, I would go for Ryzen at the moment, it's much more future-proof ;)

No, of course you can add 2x8GB. You just have to be careful with the clock speeds. Which CPU do you have in mind? Then I can help you a little further ;) LG TheNikk
xD So if you have a new mainboard, the PC will run. Otherwise you need a Skylake processor to put the BIOS update on it. Yep, the benchmark is true to a limited extent. Intel is still a bit better in gaming at the moment. But that's only because most games are not yet 8 core optimised. So for everything else, e.g. rendering or video editing, Ryzen is much better. And soon most games will also be 8 core optimised, and then Ryzen will be clearly ahead. The only game I know that supports 8 cores is Battlefield 1, and AMD is better there too. Intel can only score with high clock speeds.
