Can you also install them in a PC?
Hi Dario
Basically: You can! In more detail: If you need the Red as your "normal" storage, i.e. where you store the operating system, your programmes, etc., it is certainly not optimal (keyword SSD). But if you want to use it as a mass storage device for backups, photos or other things, go ahead. Normally, however, it would be more expensive than other hard drives designed for the desktop, as it uses extra technologies for smooth NAS operation. For example, it has IntelliPower RPM to provide balanced, low-power operation. As a result, it sometimes switches off and then takes a little longer to call up the data, which is not at all noticeable in NAS/raid operation, but it is noticeable on a normal PC.
But as I said, if it's so cheap and you only use it for large storage, go for it!
If you want to know more, go to https://www.wdc.com/de-de..., everything is written there.

As BenediktRPI already said, yes you can. But if you don't want the hard drive to run 24/7, I would recommend a WD Blue. These are the normal hard drives for normal desktop PCs.
