Can this be installed directly on the iPhone 7, or do you have to use the special Ollocase for it?

You do not need the Ollocase. If you already have a case, you always have to take it off to attach the Olloclip. If you don't want to do this, it is recommended that you buy the Ollocase.

As far as I could see, you don't need the Ollocase to mount the Olloclip on an iPhone 7.
