Braun Series 9 9380cc wet&dry
Can this appliance be used for shaving in the shower?
I have a 9250 model and shaved wet in the shower for over a year. Shaving with a little soap is great, the razor glides much better than dry. So it basically works. Tip: before shaving, put the whiskers up with a flannel.
BUT: now my shaver started to beep and flash in between. You can find a lot of information about this on the net, others have the problem too. I opened it up and there was moisture in it which had attacked the electronics (green sprout + rust). The circuit board is not covered with any protective lacquer! After cleaning with alcohol, applying plastic spray to the board, cleaning the seal and greasing it, I'm curious to see how long it will last again.
Conclusion: It should work in the shower, but it's a bad design.
My Philips Bodygroom is more reliable, but only suitable for shaving faces in a pinch.
I wouldn't do it just because it is said to be better to shave with dry facial skin - before washing. But you will be "allowed" to do so, because the Series 9 works "wet & dry". However, the term "wet" could also refer only to a water rinse when the motor is switched off - you would have to clarify this with Braun customer service.
