can the shelves be pulled out by means of a full extension or are they fixed in place?
Yes, you can pull them out, but they run a bit awkwardly in places.
In general, I don't recommend the product at all. It gave up the ghost just after the warranty period and no longer works.
The manufacturer was not at all accommodating and did not want to know about a replacement.
