Probably not, video compatibility is stated as 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p in the manual and a video transcoder is not mentioned anywhere.

If, contrary to expectations, it does work, the picture is probably not smooth enough, so I would consider a 4K player from the outset, such as Chromecast Ultra or Amazon Fire Stick or a NAS with a transcoder, etc.
