Can the Garmin DriveSmart 76 MT-S also be operated with a rechargeable battery, i.e. without a cigarette lighter cable?

Yes, but only 1 hour.
Yes, as already answered by others. But the battery doesn't last very long. But it's good enough for planning a trip or something in a hotel room. The device has served me well in the USA.
Battery life approx. 1 hour. However, I wasn't too convinced by the device for my application and returned it.
