My husband always washes the filter with water aud

The filter seems washable under water, but isn't. The type of material of which it's made deteriorates. My question concerns more the other parts: the plastic parts. The steel filter can eventually rust. Again my question concerns all the other plastic parts, since the filter is completely unmountable . Thanks for your reply.
