Question about Synology DS923+
Can the device be reconfigured into a Raid-5 without any problems? (It is apparently supplied as a JBOD).

During the initial setup, the RAID type can be defined when creating the storage pool.
It’s supplied unconfigured, you decide the set up when you start it up. It’’s very clear and easy to do. You can do normal raid5 , or the synology hybrid raid and even chose your own filesystem for the raid. My recommendation is Synology hybrid raid with btrfs . But that’s your choice.
