Can the contacts in the shared contacts make calls with the watch, but not send SMS to the watch, unless the contacts have downloaded the app? You can't expect all your contacts to download the app... Is there a children's smartwatch that allows children to send text messages from the watch?

You can call the watch without having an app installed and vice versa. We have never really needed the SMS function.
