Can the brightness be adjusted and does the frame have to be connected to the WLAN or can I operate it offline with an SD card?

Operation without WLAN is possible. WLAN is used for:
- Date and Time
- weather forecast
- picture synch with smartphone/notebook
- software update
- sharing pictures
