With the Netatmo Home + Security app, the alarm can also be deactivated remotely. I tested it myself and it works.

I can only speak for the Apple HomeKit integration. Last autumn, one of them went off when smoke from the barbecue got into the flat, so it was necessary to acknowledge the alarm on the detector. 
That actually makes sense.
