Can it stand in the rain without a roof
Yes it can. It is completely dust and waterproof (IP66), but it is better to get a roof at some point. Too much rain and sun can damage it at some point.
Probably not better under the roof as it also has a rain sensor. In my case, the mower is under the roof of the garden shed
