Can I watch Salt TV without connecting any other device (apple tv/laptop) to it?

You can do this with the Salt APP. This can be downloaded from the Samsung Store.

Only if there is an app in the samsung store.
I have already completed the notebook and the XBox. Just need an adapter HDMI -> MicroHDMI or a corresponding cable with these ends. But mostly I go with a wireless mirror from the iPad or my Samsung mobile.
