I have a Dell monitor which supports USB C with hdmi/usb transfer. When I connect my work laptop (thinkpad t470) it works fine. Again with the IdeaPad I had no success, only the usb devices were recognised but no picture output, I had to use the hdmi connection to get the picture to work.

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but in my experience, the image transfer with usb-c didn't work, even though it worked on another laptop.
