Helpful answer

According to the manufacturer's website, CF card readers are possible via USB: https://www.wdc.com/de-de...
Since USB card readers provide a uniform interface with a defined protocol for each storage medium, this should not be a problem with XQD from a technical point of view.
For 100% certainty I would ask WD directly, their support has never let me down. I would also be interested in WD's answer...

Unfortunately, I have no idea - I need the hard drive on the road to quickly and easily back up photos wirelessly from SC cards.

Good morning
I haven't tried with XQD cards yet.
But I assume that the automatic reading of data only works via the SD card slot.
In my opinion, the USB port is only intended for connection to the PC and as a powerbank charger. But I'm happy to be proven wrong :-)
