Since PS5 only supports exFAT and FAT32, you should format the drive in one of these two formats. NTFS and other formats are not supported by PS5. FAT32 is widely used on devices, but it does not support a single file over 4GB. Generally, game files are larger than 4 GB.

My recommendation:
Buy a smaller HDD in the order of 1TB.
Reason: Many devices have BIOS problems with partition management from 2TB. (Formatting mode MBR /GDR)
If you still want to have a 3TB storage, then split it with a partition in FAT32 format. The REST in NTFS. Or what the console suggests.
