Question about HP Reverb G2

Can I install the headset without controllers? I only want to do aviation simulation (MSFS2020 and DCS). I don't need controllers. I'm not sure if I can do it with the mouse/keyboard if I don't have joysticks and the program asks me to confirm options during installation.
