Can I connect this MacBook via a suitable docking station so that I have 2 screens (i.e. screen from the laptop and screen from the old PC via HDMI)? What would I need?

A second monitor can easily be connected via the integrated HDMI connection. If the resolution does not match, a separate app such as easyres is recommended.
