There are turntables (mostly newer ones) that have a "line out" connection, then this works without problems. Older turntables or those that have a "phono out" must have a phono preamplifier (also called an RIAA equaliser) in between. These start at around 30. Tip: If you need the preamplifier, pay attention to whether your pick-up system is moving coil (MC) or moving magnet (MM).
