I have also mounted this connector on a Cat7 installation cable. Basically, the type of shielding does not matter. The shielding must be removed where the contact is made anyway. There are two different threading aids for this. One for AWG21,22 and one for 23,24. It is only important to pay attention to the overall diameter, because otherwise the counter piece of the connector will not fit over it. I would say 8mm is the maximum.
