You can boil pretty much anything directly with the appliance as long as there is water in it, but I still wouldn't recommend it.
A residual taste of the tea would stick in the long run.
The great thing about this kettle is that you can directly select the right temperature for your drink or anything else. This is especially important for tea.

Bodum teapots are beautiful, of high quality and almost a must for tea drinkers.
With bagged tea, a standard kettle is always enough.
