Can I add a second M2 memory disk? Or is 1to the maximum memory for this machine?

Yes, it is possible to install more M.2 storage. There is a 2nd M.2 slot availabe. I installed a 2 TB M.2 there without issue. A heat dispenser is included too. Opening up the Notebook requires some tools. I recommend the iFixit starter pack with suction cup.
