Can anyone tell me why the AF does not work properly on a Canon EOS D850 and the latest generation Sigma 150-600? Would a software update help?!? From my point of view, the 2x converter only works manually?!? Not what I wanted...

Without a teleconverter, the AF must work correctly. With a 2x teleconverter, however, it becomes a dark zoom with f13 at the long end and a cheap DSLR cannot cope with that. They usually stop working at f8. This is nothing new, it has been known for a long time. It should be in the technical data. Newer mirrorless cameras have no problem with this.
