Can anyone say how the robot behaves around a pool that is at the same level as the lawn?

You can put no-go zones on it, so no worries, I don't have a swimming pool, it doesn't have a fall sensor, but if you go round it properly there's no problem I don't think. I'm at the side of the road, flat, with no kerb, and it's never been on the road.
The only bug I've had 1-2 times is that it's ended up on the other side of the hedge (shrubs every 1.5m) and she stopped, I think she was "lost" because the place looked like another, or else the grass where she doesn't pass meant she was lost.
What's certain is that she won't automatically avoid it; you have to tell her not to go.

It mapped it for me. BUT I'm not sure if it automatically avoids it.
You have to create a 'no go zone' or cut it out.

Unfortunately, I can't say whether it recognises the pool as I don't have one in my garden. But you can manually draw a no-go zone in the app after you have mapped the garden, or if the pool is surrounded by lawn, you can drive the robot lawnmower around the pool to define a no-go zone. I have defined such an area in the garden that I have reseeded and this area is reliably avoided.
