Can an RJ45 adapter be connected to the micro-USB? Do vià adapter devices work via LAN?

No, it is only a (mobile) WLAN adapter. If you need LAN/RJ45, you probably want something with a fixed location, then you have to use devices such as the TP-Link Archer MRxxx series.
