Can 7 tuners really be received?
According to the manufacturer's website, the card supports 6 different types of reception. Further information: http://www.hauppauge.de/site...
According to https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki..., the card does _not_ have "7 tuners".
It does not even have 6 (if you interpret the "6-in-1" on the Hauppauge homepage as such https://www.hauppauge.de/site...).
It has rather
- _one_ tuner for digital satellite TV (DVB-S/S2)
- _one_ tuner for digital cable TV or digital terrestrial TV (DVB-C/T/T2) - but DVB-T has probably already been replaced everywhere by DVB-T2 and DVB-T2 is probably encrypted everywhere. So that leaves only DVB-C as a utility.
- A tuner for analogue TV - but that's probably no longer available anywhere. So it's no use value either.
- A tuner for analogue FM radio - but here, too, I don't see much use, since virtually all radio stations also offer an Internet stream.
For most people, DVB-C will be of interest at most (if sensible unencrypted digital TV channels are available at the location) or DVB-S2, if you can screw a satellite dish onto the roof.
