Question about Verbatim Slimline
Bought this unit a few days ago. The software cannot be installed on the PC because the installation programme is based on Flash. Adobe has blocked Flash-based content from running in Flash Player since 12.01.2021. On Verbatim's website, there is no software to download except for manuals. We have known since 2017 that Flash will no longer work. What next?
Hello, you have done everything right: There are 3 directories on the CD:
- Applications: this contains a backup programme. The only file is the .exe for installation
- Manuals: here are the PDFs with the instructions in all possible languages.
- Software has two subfolders
----Adobe Reader: well, you probably have it anyway and besides, only the English version is included here.
----Nero: you have already found the installation programme, this is the only software that was really interesting for me.
With Windows 10 no extra driver is needed, because everything is already included in the operating system and also Ubuntu uses the drive immediately without any further software.

I bought the device in July 2023. Because my wife didn't need it at the time, I only tried to install it on her PC under Windows 11 in Oct 23 and failed. I then emailed Vebatim because they never mention anything about windows11 regarding drivers. But got no reply ! Tried again at the end of Dec 23 - again unsuccessful. Now I came across your comments from 2017. Now at least I know what's going on, i.e. why it's not working.
The companies Vebatim and Digitec play a very lousy role !!! No proper installation disc, no clarification. Shame. This is how you can waste your time - unfortunately!

I had exactly the same problem with it. I first looked at the files on the CD with Explorer and then found a file called back-up under Nero. I copied it to my hard drive and then started the installation from there and it worked. After that, you still have to update Nero and Nero2016 now works for me. However, it is not good that Verbatim sells a software CD that cannot run anymore because Adobe Flash Player is required and is no longer available.
