Before I finish my purchase I need some advice - would it be better to buy a Ryzen 5950X or 3950X, logically the new generation is more advanced but I have heard the opposite so I am hesitating...

Hello,

According to several benchmarks the 5950X is superior to the 3950X. The only difference between the two processors is the base frequency of 3.4 GHz for the 5950X against 3.5 GHz for the 3950X, but in the end it is the maximum frequency (without overclocking) that matters with 4.9 GHz for the 5950X against 4.7 GHz for the 3950X.

From my point of view, if it's a question of budget the 3950X otherwise I'll take the 5950X.
