ATTENTION ! I have been using the Mobi for a while now and am very satisfied. Processor ran without problems and with very good thermals at 5.00GHz @1.26 Vcore (Turbo&AVX) on all 10 cores. Now BIOS 1002 has been released. I actually wanted to take a closer look at the "ReSize Bar Support". This did not happen... I took the old settings and checked them. Short stress test and instant system crash.... (L0 Cache Error) I played around with the values a bit, but now I need a lot more voltage to keep the thing stable. The thermals are going through the roof, had to reduce the clock by 100MHz to get back into a good range. VRM now runs with 10 C more than before. (max 62 to 52) I went back to BIOS 0901 and everything was fine again. Has anyone had a similar experience? Or did I miss a new important setting somewhere?
Well, BIOS 1002 is declared as beta, so it is possible that you still have errors in it...
I would have a look in the Asus forum and also report your problem.
It can also only be a CPU-specific problem...
Otherwise wait and see and if that is not an option you can always analyse the BIOS files ;-)
I agree, there is a lot behind a BIOS.... and where people work, mistakes happen... naturally. Quite naturally.
Asus has already banned 1002 from the support site :) And now 1003 released.... I think they found something themselves.... I'll point it out :)
Good input, thank you ! 1002 with default values would be interesting, but I went directly with the OC values, because the CPU with the Intel default values may only draw 125 W under long term. With 0901, the CPU only got 45-50 degrees warm.... :)
