Juice Technology Juice Booster 2 Basic Set Switzerland
Type 2, 22 kW, 32 A, CEE32 red, Type 13
As a newcomer to Tesla, there is one thing I don't understand. If I buy the thing, I don't have to do anything other than plug it into a red industrial socket in the garage I have? Or do I have to have this expensive fuse installed at home? It says that it can be used as a wallbox, but if I have to install the fuse then the wallbox is cheaper.
Just to clarify: the Tesla UMC1 does not fit on a CEE32 industrial socket, but only on a CEE16 industrial socket. For CEE32, the Juice Booster 2 is probably more suitable (with the disadvantage that unfortunately the charge port does not open automatically).
Yes, you can simply plug the Juice Booster into the red industrial socket at home. You don't need the expensive RCD because the JB2 already has it integrated. The Tesla Wall Connector does not have this built in and therefore needs it.
However, the JB2 does not have a button to open the Tesla Chargeport, which is a pity. The cheapest and most practical option would be a UMC1 from Tesla. This is the UMC charger that used to come with the Model S and X. Unfortunately they are no longer made, but they are available. Unfortunately, they are no longer manufactured, but can be found on Ebay and the like from time to time.
