I can't say anything (yet) about the wear on the pencil tips, but the foil definitely has scratch marks after a few days. And that despite careful, light use. The scratches don't interfere with writing/drawing, but they look ugly in good light. However, I think this goes under 'signs of use', and I expect to renew/replace the foil every few months. It's not glass.
I can't tell if these are the "new" ones or not. In any case, I have them for my iPad Pro and am very happy with them. The writing feeling is so much more pleasant because it creates a little friction/resistance. It's just "paper-like". I've had it since March '22 and it doesn't eat any Pencil tips - I still have the same tip on it. I use the iPad regularly at work. My children also draw with it. So I dare say it's used regularly in a practical environment. Over time, the surface becomes a little duller. You have to look closely to notice it and it has never bothered me (even in sunlight). But it is definitely a disadvantage if the image quality is very important. In my opinion, however, you have to be very sensitive in this respect. I hope the information is useful.
