Question about Amazon Echo Show 8

Here is my solution from spring 20! It's still running at her retirement home! All functions, Skype etc. I personally bought the Google Nest Hub Max. Quite a great thing!!!!! just google lite!!! No skype daftgoogle duo etc. The decision for which device is where do you already have a konnto and photos stored.

In the meantime I bought the Echo Show 8 (5 too small!!). Had my doubts at the beginning too. Now I have found out that you can download the Alexa app, which is not available in Switzerland (App Store), via a pseudo account in DE. (see YouTube youtube.com/watch?v=vuHyANY...). Am now super satisfied, unfortunately I have to take the Echo to the old people's home and my mother-in-law now has the fun! Thumbs up!!!

Installation procedure:
Before you connect Alexa Echo Show to the power!
1. open an Amazon account (CH)
2. open a Skype account (CH) via Microsoft, for Skype calls (free of charge).
For calls to landlines and mobiles, credit is required and is subject to a charge (after all, I don't have a subscription and make calls via Skype!)
3. alexa app (according to YouTube above, download to your mobile and register)
4. Alexa photo app can be downloaded with CH account, for photos on the Echo Show.
5. connect the Alexa Echo Show to the power supply and install it.
6. add the Skype account in Alexa
7. the Echo Show can also be programmed via the Alexa app, which is really great!

It's not that easy, but I had time because of Corona.... Stay at home and healthy!
