Question about Activision Guitar Hero Live incl. guitar

Absolute noob and PS newbie here: can you play a PS3 game on a PS4? Or is that possible with this game including the guitar controller? :)

Basically, the Sony Playstations are not backwards compatible, so games from older generations cannot be played. The PS4 does not recognise PS3 discs, so they cannot be used. However, games can be installed on the PS4 for an additional charge. These are mainly popular titles such as Battlefield, Assasins Creed, etc.
