The data is of course also stored on the watch and can be synchronised later. I can't say how long the data will be stored on the watch, maybe ask Nokia/Withings on FB/Twitter ?

The battery is rechargeable and lasts about 3 weeks on one charge. The battery cannot be replaced by the user, but it should be able to hold its capacity for about 4 years.
