9. Noctua NH-D15 G2 LBC
The NH-D15 G2 is the further improved second generation of Noctua's iconic NH-D15. With its state-of-the-art, speed-controlled NF-A14x25r G2 PWM fans, eight heat pipes, and asymmetrical fin stacks carefully tuned to work with the new fans, it achieves even better and quieter cooling performance than its award-winning predecessor.
The special Low Base Convexity (LBC) version is optimized for relatively flat CPUs and offers excellent contact quality on AMD's AM5 processors, even when the included offset mounting option is not used. Internal tests have shown that the Freezer 36 offers significant improvements over its predecessors, the Freezer 35 and the popular Freezer 34 eSports DUO, as well as compared to competitors' coolers. All Freezer 36 models can be used without restriction with Intel's LGA1851 socket. Thanks to an innovative mounting system, case fans can be easily attached to the heatsink using a snap-in system. This mounting method eliminates the need for fan clips and simplifies the installation of the cooler or the replacement of fans, even when the cooler is already installed. Therefore, the Freezer 36 is compatible with most 120mm fans.
