Top rated Filters (photography)

Here's a ranking of the top rated products in this category. To give you a quick overview, we've also added some key information about the products.

1. Hoya Digital Filter Kit II

The Hoya Digital Filter Kit II contains 3 main filters in one pack, which are very frequently used in photography. Included in the set are: UV(C) Filter - A UV(C) filter is used to intercept UV light and provides general lens protection. Manufactured with a high quality UV cut and anti-reflective coating applied to both sides, a circular polarising filter is a basic filter with a polarising effect to eliminate unwanted reflections or improve the contrast of celestial and natural objects. NDX8 An ND (neutral density) 8 filter reduces the amount of light by 3 f-stops and corresponds to an 8x slower shutter speed. By using this filter, it is possible to achieve the effect of blurred movement of water or moving objects despite an open aperture. The ND8 filter is also suitable for filming in bright surroundings with a fixed shutter speed and open aperture. Filter factor 8, transmissivity 12.5%, density 0.9 f/stop 3.

2. Hoya Digital Filter Kit Ii 72 mm

3. Hama O-Haze

Hama O-Haze 77 mm UV Filter

- 1 layer of surface coating on each side
- Protects the lens from UV radiation
- Enhances contrasts
- Prevents fogging
- Diameter:
77 mm.

4. Hoya HD Cir-Pl

Color and contrast enhancement with the Hoya HD CIR-PL filter. Light rays reflected from any surface can become polarized. Therefore, polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. With CIR-PL filters, you can eliminate unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces like water and glass. They also allow colors to appear more saturated, clearer, and with greater contrast. This effect is often used to enhance contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds. Hoya's polarizing filters do not affect the overall color balance of a shot.

The filter features a highly transparent and durable UV-absorbing coating, providing 25% higher light transmission than standard polarizing filters. HD coating: 16-layer (both sides) anti-reflective multi-coating, water and oil repellent, scratch and dirt resistant. HD frame: ultra-thin frame compatible with wide-angle lenses, mounted on glass using high-pressure pressing technology.

5. Hoya HMC Super Pro1 UV Filter

The Hoya HMC Super Pro1 are professional UV filters with exceptionally high transmission and perfect color balance. The increased durability of the hardened glass ensures that UV filters cut out unwanted ultraviolet rays, reduce haze, and enhance clarity. Additionally, the UV filter serves very well as a protective glass for the lens. With 12 layers of coating, they offer a transmission of 99.7%. The reinforced glass is 40% lighter than conventional filters, and the 3 mm filter mount is excellent for wide-angle shots with a front thread.

6. Hoya UX II UV Filter

The UX II UV filter with a water-repellent coating is a new development of the HMC UV(C) filter, which is now integrated into the new standard class of the UX II series alongside the UX II CIR-PL filter. The UX II UV filter is a completely redesigned product aimed at entry-level users, offering high quality standards along with basic and contemporary features. Although UV rays are not visible to the naked eye, they can negatively affect images taken in locations such as the sea or mountains, leading to blurred outlines or pale and whitish images. UV filters can suppress the UV spectrum present in daylight, which primarily causes adverse effects on images. This filter can be used with both film and digital cameras, resulting in more vibrant images. Additionally, this filter serves as daily lens protection when it is kept attached at all times.

7. Hoya Pro ND1000 Filter

The Hoya ND 1000 reduces light by an equivalent of 10 stops. Neutral density filters (ND filters) are among the most sought-after and essential types of photographic filters for several reasons. For photographers, ND filters provide precise control over the amount of light entering the lens, allowing for greater creative control over exposure. For video content creators, ND filters are very helpful in adjusting shutter speeds to match frame rates while maintaining the depth of field of the footage. PROND filters utilize Hoya's clear optical glass, which is mounted in a lightweight, precisely crafted aluminum frame. Thanks to the leading ACCU-ND technology, images are not negatively affected by color shifts that can occur due to inferior materials, poor quality control during manufacturing, or issues with the infrared range of the light spectrum. Hoya's exclusive ACCU-ND technology ensures a uniform reduction of light in both the visible and IR spectrum.
