1. Thermal Grizzly WireView GPU, 1x 12VHPWR - Reverse

The Thermal Grizzly WireView GPU is a device for measuring and displaying values such as power consumption, voltage, and current of PCI expansion cards like graphics cards with a 12VHPWR power connector. An additional advantage is that the U-shaped design of the adapter allows for optimized cable routing for clean cable management.

What does the WireView GPU do?
The WireView GPU enables the measurement of power consumption of graphics cards and records this data to determine energy usage. This data can be used, among other things, to calculate the electricity costs of a graphics card or to compare the power consumption with other graphics cards. At the same time, the measurement of power consumption can help determine the energy usage of graphics cards over a specific period or during certain applications. Additionally, it can identify power consumption peaks that may occur during the operation of current high-end graphics cards.

The following information can be displayed on the OLED screen of the WireView GPU:
- Current power consumption in watts [W]
- Current power consumption in watts [W], voltage in volts [V], and current in amperes [A]
- Minimum and maximum power consumption in watts [W]
- Average power consumption averaged over 60 seconds [AVG W] and total energy consumption [E]

Why use a power meter for the graphics card?
The WireView GPU displays the power consumption of a graphics card in real-time. This is particularly interesting for extreme overclockers and hardware reviewers, but it is also helpful when testing the performance of a graphics card. Since no additional software needs to run to capture power consumption, the measurement does not affect benchmark results. When manually overclocking the graphics card (e.g., with MSI Afterburner, ASUS GPU Tweak, EVGA Precision), the adjustments made in the software can be represented in terms of the changed power output.

2. Thermal Grizzly WireView GPU Pro

The WireView GPU Pro from Thermal Grizzly is a highly advanced measuring device specifically designed for monitoring the power consumption of graphics cards. With an integrated OLED display, this device allows for precise measurement of power draw and provides a user-friendly interface for displaying real-time data. The WireView GPU Pro is equipped with a 12VHPWR connector, enabling easy integration into desktop systems. Additionally, the device features temperature sensors attached to the 12VHPWR connector to monitor temperature during operation. An acoustic warning signal alerts users to critical performance values, enhancing safety and efficiency during gaming and other graphics-intensive applications. The optimized cable management ensures a clean and tidy installation, while compatibility with NVIDIA and ATI graphics processors guarantees wide applicability.

- Integrated OLED display for performance data
- Temperature sensors for monitoring operating temperature
- Acoustic warning signal for critical performance values

3. Thermal Grizzly WireView Pro II

The WireView Pro II was specially developed for the demanding use of modern high-end graphics cards with 12V-2x6 connection and represents the most advanced version of the WireView Pro. The current is not only measured as a total value, but also per individual pin and wire of the 12V-2x6 connector. This means that potential contact problems between the cable and the graphics card can be recognised immediately. The WireView Pro II was specially developed for precise monitoring of the 12V-2x6 connection in order to detect load distribution problems at an early stage and prevent possible damage to the graphics card and the 12V-2x6 connection.

All safety-relevant parameters such as currents (A), voltages (V), temperatures (°C) and power consumption (W) are continuously measured. Thermal Grizzly has defined threshold values that should not be exceeded during regular operation, as this would increase the risk of thermal damage to the connector. If a threshold value is exceeded, a visual warning appears on the display and an acoustic alarm is triggered. Optionally, an automatic switch-off of the system can be triggered via the supplied splitter cable. The preset threshold values can be adjusted via the configuration menu.

Additional heat is generated when operating high-performance GPUs due to unavoidable contact resistances on plug connections, which lead to power losses. To ensure controlled heat dissipation, a semi-passive fan has been integrated, which operates silently when idle and activates automatically when power consumption and temperature increase. The CNC-milled aluminium housing has ventilation openings and serves as an active heat sink. Optimised openings in the rear circuit board direct the airflow around all heat-relevant components, including the graphics card's power connection.

5. Thermal Grizzly WireView GPU

The WireView GPU is a device for measuring the power consumption of graphics cards that was developed in collaboration with Jon "elmor" Sandström. It is plugged into the PCIe power connectors of the graphics card and connected to the power supply via the PCIe power cables. Power consumption data is displayed via an OLED display. At the same time, the WireView GPU assumes a cable management function, as its "U" shape enables optimised routing of the cables. The PCIe power cables are connected to the WireView GPU in such a way that they can be laid neatly over the backplate of the graphics card. This avoids cable bulges when routing the power cables and simplifies cable management. The WireView GPU enables the power consumption of graphics cards to be measured and records this data to determine the power consumption. This data can be used, among other things, to determine the power costs of a graphics card or to compare the power consumption with other graphics cards. A special measuring cycle over 60 seconds enables the power consumption to be displayed quickly and conveniently, which is very practical for reviews, for example. At the same time, the measurement of power consumption can be used to determine the power consumption of graphics cards over a certain period of time or with certain applications. In addition, load peaks in the power consumption can be determined, which can occur in the operation of current high-end graphics cards.

6. Thermal Grizzly WireView Pro GPU Reversed

The WireView Pro GPU is an extended version of the device for measuring and monitoring the power consumption of graphics cards. The WireView Pro GPU was developed in co-operation with Jon "elmor" Sandström. It is connected to the 12VHPWR power connector of the graphics card and is connected to the power supply via the power cable. The power consumption data is displayed on an OLED screen. The Pro version has been expanded to include plug detection and temperature sensors. An additional buzzer emits an acoustic warning if the adjustable temperature or current limit is exceeded or if the cable is not connected correctly or an incorrectly specified cable is used.

The WireView Pro GPU enables the measurement and monitoring of the power consumption of graphics cards via the 12VHPWR power connection and records this data to determine the power consumption. This data can be used to calculate the power costs of a graphics card or to compare the power consumption with other graphics cards. A special 60-second measurement cycle enables a quick and convenient display of power consumption, making it particularly useful for testing. At the same time, the power consumption over a certain period of time or in certain applications can be assessed. In addition, power peaks that occur when operating current high-end graphics cards can be recognised.

The Pro version has been expanded to include connector detection, temperature sensors and an acoustic warning signal. The WireView Pro GPU's connector detection identifies whether a 150 watt, 300 watt, 450 watt or 600 watt cable is being used. Please note that WireView Pro GPU only measures the power consumption via the power connector, not via the PCIe slot of the motherboard. If an incorrect cable is used or the cable is not connected correctly, an acoustic warning signal will sound.
