1. Strymon Riverside multistage drive effectpedaal

With the Riverside, you add a super versatile overdrive channel to any amplifier. In the broadest sense of the principle, Strymon has designed the Riverside to match with any amplifier and cover the entire spectrum of gain. Whether you want a very mild and crystal-clear edge or a muddy distortion, the Riverside can create it all. It is a multi-stage overdrive that you can use as a full-fledged channel of your amplifier.

Start with the right sound using the mini-toggle switch to choose between low and high gain, the degree of mid-push, and select the presence on the back of the pedal. You can then fully control the Riverside with the well-known but very effective and powerful 3-band EQ (Bass, Mid, Treble), gain, and level controls. Simple, yet very effective.

And Strymon wouldn’t be Strymon if this pedal didn’t have some useful extra features. At the start of the favorite switch, this is a preset for your favorite sound that activates alongside the stand. This way, you have two overdrive sounds available with the Riverside! Additionally, this pedal includes extra features such as a boost and noise reduction function. The boost can be independently turned on and off via the optional additional mini-switch from Strymon.

Finally, with an expression pedal, there is the option to manage a pot meter, allowing you to work super dynamically with this already very versatile preamp. The 9VDC power supply is included.

2. Strymon Zelzah Multidimensional Phaser effectpedaal

As a multi-phaser, it is naturally quite specific, but to be honest, when Strymon thinks about it, the result is fantastic. If you are a phaser freak – or not necessarily – and you are looking for the coolest phaser on this planet, then the Zelzah is the way to go! It offers thick, dreamy filter sounds and an unprecedented interface to control the effect precisely – yet still simply.

The left half of Zelzah is a classic 4-stage phaser with familiar speed, depth, and mix parameters. This gives you cool old-school phaser sounds (think Maestro/Moog from the 70s). However, if you choose the sweep setting, the phaser works on the sensitivity rating and provides a great vocal effect.

The right half is a 6-stage phaser, and the voice parameter is interesting because you can add a delay to the feedback loop in addition to filtering. This is a feature that doesn't quite belong to a phaser but is more typical of a flanger. This makes the right half so exciting, as the result is that you can also explore the spectrum of flangers and harmonic vibratos with the Zelzah.

And as Strymon puts it: What’s better than one phaser? Two! We agree with this, but we point out that these two phaser halves can be arranged completely independently. So with the Zelzah, you have not one, but two unique phasers at your disposal. As a cherry on top, the Zelzah is fully stereo, meaning stereo in (switchable) and out, which makes this pedal fantastic for keyboardists as well. A 9VDC power supply is included.

3. Strymon MiniSwitch

The Strymon MiniSwitch is a compact effects pedal designed as a versatile footswitch for various Strymon guitar effect pedals. With a thoughtful design, the MiniSwitch offers enhanced functionality for pedalboards by providing two operating modes. In Favorites mode, users can instantly access saved parameter sets stored in compatible pedals such as the Brigadier, El Capistan, Lex, and Flint. This allows for seamless switching between different effect configurations during a performance. Additionally, the Tap Tempo mode provides a convenient way to control tempo settings for pedals like Flint, Mobius, and Timeline. The robust metal housing ensures durability and reliability, while the footswitch mechanism offers tactile feedback that supports consistent performance on stage. With its compact dimensions, the MiniSwitch is an ideal addition to any pedal setup.

- Two operating modes: Favorites mode and Tap Tempo mode
- Compatible with multiple Strymon pedals for enhanced functionality
- Sturdy metal housing for durability and stage use
- Reliable tactile feedback for consistent performance.

4. Strymon Sunset -s??r??pedaali

For us, the Strymon Sunset earns the honorary title of one of the best overdrives of the moment. It not only sounds fantastic but is also very functional and versatile. Let's start with the sound! Pedals often sound good like a pedal. This is, of course, somewhat logical and in many cases desirable, but the Sunset sounds almost synonymous with the overdrive of a tube amplifier, naturally very dynamic and thick. The design of the pedal is well thought out and very user-friendly, while Strymon has integrated a lot of functionality and a variety of sounds into the Sunset.

With the Sunset, you have two completely separate and independent controls at your disposal. Channel A offers a range of classic overdrives (Germanium diode clipping, Texas soft clipping, treble booster) that are perfect for singing and fluid overdrive tones. Channel B provides stronger and more complex, hard-hitting overdrives. Channel B is therefore a bit more aggressive and logically serves as a superlative for Channel A in many cases. It is possible to switch between the two channels, but you can also stack them. It is even possible to set the order of the two channels relative to each other, and it can also be configured for both channels to be routed in parallel.

To top it all off, the Sunset is equipped with a noise surprise feature as an intelligent secondary characteristic (press the B switch and the level parameter of Channel A is your control for the noise surprise). The 9VDC power supply is included.

9. Strymon Timeline Delay kitarapedaali

We can refer to the Strymon Timeline as the sum of delay pedals. The possibilities are nearly endless, and in this regard, the Timeline is reminiscent of what happened when Line 6 released the legendary DM4. However, Strymon also focuses on aspects beyond just features and spectacular delay sounds. The built-in buffer can be turned on and off. This product is aimed at professional musicians. Here, technicians, purists, nerds, and guitarists have collaborated, and the result is truly impressive.

With all the options available, this remains a tweaker pedal and a dream for the delay artist. Nevertheless, Strymon has designed a reasonable, simple user interface, allowing you to quickly access all the delay sounds you can imagine, even without in-depth knowledge. In terms of quality, it could easily cost thousands of euros. From this perspective, the Timeline can almost be considered affordable!

Choose from DTAPE and DBUCKET analog delays to unique, shimmering 'Slice n Dice' Ice Delays, Dual (Series/Parallel), Non-Tap, Reverse, Swell, Ducking, Locked-Tremolo, Filter Lock, and Lo-Fi (including Vinyl) modes. Integrated 30-second stereo loops, 200 user programs, massive optimization capabilities, complete MIDI control, ultra-low noise, 24-bit 96 kHz converters, 115 dB typical SNR filter, Smart Pass, and modulation controls. LED for BPM and parameter control, stereo input and output, expression pedal input with selectable control over knobs or a combination of knobs, saveable per preset, selectable trails mode per preset.

10. Strymon Lex Rotary V2

The Strymon Lex Rotary V2 is the new version of the pedal featuring the classic sound of a rotating speaker system. Every nuance and detail has been examined and recreated. The designers, as we have come to expect from Strymon, have invested a lot of time into this. The physics and mechanics of these rotary systems have also been analyzed and integrated into this compact pedal.

Additionally, there are switches for adjusting the speed ramp time (slow/medium/fast), as well as for tuning the front and rear cabinet orientation. The speed knob now adjusts the speed for both the slow and fast modes, depending on which mode is active when the switch is set. This includes rotor speed, horn level, gear time, microphone distance, tube drive, saturation, and of course, volume level. And all of this without the need for a huge cabinet, microphone configuration, and costly motor maintenance.

Furthermore, this pedal features a slow/medium/fast switch that allows you to influence the rotor speed, just like with a physical speaker system. It includes a USB-C connection for MIDI over USB and firmware updates, enabling bidirectional MIDI communication with a single cable. There is also free support for editor/libraries via USB connectivity. The editor/librarian software is set to launch in August 2022.

The pedal boasts an original modification. Additionally, there are improved preamps and the processor has received an upgrade. The pedal offers true bypass, but you can also opt for the buffered bypass function. It comes with a power adapter included.
