Works, but slowed down in iMac 2019 together with original RAM

Works in the iMac 2019 27" i5 3.7Ghz. However, the memory is downclocked to 2400MHz in conjunction with the originally installed modules (2x4GB), although they are also capable of 2666MHz.

    Super comment.
    1. I would have liked to use my total purchased 40GB.
    2. I would have liked to use my RAM with 2666MHz as specified in the respective specs.
How exactly does your comment help now?

MacOS unfortunately tacks down the RAMs when they are mixed. But I don't think you'll feel the difference. :-)

The downclocking of mixed RAM is logical, regardless of the operating system. It also depends on the processor.

... then leave 40 GB or only 32 GB?

It depends on what clock frequency the processor supports. If you think that clock speed is more important to you than enough RAM, then leave it at 32GB. But if you really think you'll ever scratch 32GB of used RAM, then go for the 40GB. However, I doubt you'll feel anything at the clock speed, and I doubt you'll ever need 32GB of RAM for gaming, unless you're a programmer.

You have to install the RAM sticks side by side. The original RAM sticks have a gap, you have to remove one and then reinsert it. For example: 16-16-4-4, or 4-4-16-16

Here it is well shown from 03:57 min:

The original memory modules are placed in slots 1 and 2, the purchased ones in slots 3 and 4. This should maintain the maximum clock
    frequency.

@plasticposer Try it out like this.
