The bright delusion

Dear friends of cultivated entertainment

A few weeks have passed since I bought the good piece. So I can now give my verdict. One thing in advance: Since the LG is only used as a monitor, I can only give limited information about the sound and features. A Marantz preamplifier takes care of the audio and signal management. But I can rave all the more about the picture!
Its predecessor was a Pioneer Krp 500, i.e. plasma. The picture from the LG comes very close to a plasma, no it surpasses it. The colours are unbelievable. The brightness almost burns a hole in your retina. The film Everest in 3D really makes you marvel, a 65" window to Everest pulls you into the living room.
The picture settings are immense and logically arranged. It is the first TV that I have NOT found a picture setting that has only moderate to no change in the picture. Every change is immediately reflected in the picture. This means that there is plenty of scope for adjustment, e.g. so that Batman and co. look as if they were produced in a home production, right up to absolute cinema precision.
As for the black level: my eye was very spoiled by the Pioneer plasma with its new blacks. But this... Stunning.
The remote control with the gesture control takes some getting used to at first, but it's cool and fits in with the entire operating concept.

Even if it was a big headache for me, if you want real home entertainment, there's no getting around the LG.
To all gamers: with PS4, this is really something. The slight curvature creates a tangible picture depth. Picture build-up is super fast, no thearings or similar were ever detected. more
