With the NWA5123-NI, ZyXEL offers an access point that can be operated in either standalone or managed mode. The NWA5123-NI is equipped with two radio modules (dual-radio) and can transmit Wi-Fi signals simultaneously on 2.4 and 5 GHz. This allows for the possibility of running two Wi-Fi networks in parallel.

The access points support CAPWAP. Once they are configured and restarted in managed mode, they search for an NXC controller. If one is present in the LAN, a connection is established automatically. This enables the NWA512x-APs to be centrally configured and managed via the NXC2500 or NXC5200.

Four integrated antennas, suitable for use with NXC WLAN controllers, are preconfigured for managed mode.
