From the heights of the megacity S1-9, the Sovereign Khan rules with fists of iron and flesh. Beneath the decaying foundations of the city, a vengeful warrior sets out to kill him. Five years before the events of Slave Zero, Slave Zero X brings to life a world where cruel, living machines known as Slaves are being prepared to become the latest war tools in humanity's long and bloody history. A secret group of warriors known as The Guardians hopes to prevent the unleashing of these biomechas upon the world, but a swordsman among them has a different idea: to use the enemy's own weapon against him. By merging with a stolen Slave Unit prototype, Shou becomes an enraged devil determined to kill a false god.
