Cat 6A cables are designed for operating frequencies of up to 500 MHz. They are used for signal transmission at high data rates (10 Gbps). Due to the high signal frequencies, careful handling is required during installation and assembly, especially at the connection points of the wires. The individual pairs of wires in Cat 6A cables are twisted with varying tightness, which further reduces susceptibility to interference compared to Cat 5e. Applications for Cat 6A cables include voice and data transmission, as well as multimedia and ATM networks.
