Cat 6A cables are designed for operating frequencies up to 500MHz. They are used for signal transmission with high data transmission rates (10Gbps). Due to the high signal frequencies, particular care must be taken during laying and assembly, especially at the connection points of the cores. The individual wire pairs of Cat 6A are twisted differently, which reduces the susceptibility to interference even more than with Cat 5e. Application areas for Cat 6A cables are voice and data transmission, as well as multimedia and ATM networks.The slimpatch cables offer a great advantage when cabling racks and 48-port switches. Due to the extremely thin processing and the great flexibility you avoid a mess of the cables and keep the overview.The Wirewin Cat 6A slimpatch cable has a flexible and wide jack protection and a length imprint on both ends. So you finally have some order in your distribution cabinets. They are the optimal solution to connect IP phones to your network. Due to their short grommet and flexibility, these cables are ideal for this application. Despite the extremely thin design, a Power over Ethernet supply of the IP phones is also possible via these cables. In addition, the cables are no longer flat as usual - they have a round shape.The system AWG (American Wire Gauge) is based on the manufacturing process of wires and expresses the conductor strength of the copper wire. AWG34 = 0.022 mm² conductor gauge.The measurements were connected to a patch panel via a 2 meter slimpatch cable. From the patch panel via a 70 meter Cat 7 shielded installation cable to another patch panel and from there to a 2 meter slimpatch cable. The results can be found in the PDFs for the Cat 6 and Cat 6A measurements.In contrast to conventional PVC cables, these cables are halogen-free: the dangerous release of halogen-containing fire gases is thus eliminated and smoke generation minimized. Halogen-free cables are also flame retardant and no dangerous fuse effect occurs.Category 6 augmented (Cat 6A) is a standard resulting from the increased bandwidth requirements of 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GBASE-T). Cat 6A cables are designed for transmission frequencies of up to 500 MHz and distances of up to 100 m, as well as being downwardly compatible with existing categories.
